Wingtech Faces $1.3B Loss After Dutch Intervention in Nexperia Operations
Wingtech Technology, the Shanghai-listed owner of Dutch chipmaker Nexperia, anticipates staggering losses of 9 billion to 13.5 billion yuan ($1.3 billion) in 2025. The financial blow follows a Dutch court's decision to restrict Wingtech's control over Nexperia, despite a temporary pause in the takeover order.
Dutch authorities invoked the Cold War-era Goods Availability Act in September to seize Nexperia's European operations, later suspending the MOVE as a "show of goodwill." Wingtech now faces significant asset write-downs and investment losses, erasing prior profit gains and marking its worst financial setback in years.
